FAQ's

General FAQ's

Where are the camps held?

The camps are held at the Bobcat Soccer Complex, the physical address for which is 1012 Academy St., San Marcos, TX 78666.

Who are the coaches at the Kat Conner Soccer Academy?

Texas State University head coach Kat Conner and assistant coaches Link Scoggins and Lorraine Quinn oversee the Kat Conner Soccer Academy camps and are actively involved in the day-to-day training of the campers. In addition, current Texas State Soccer players and collegiate coaches assist with camp sessions and operations.

Can I pay a deposit to hold my camper’s spot?

Yes! Deposit fees are listed on each camp registration page. Full payment must be received 7 days prior to the camp start date.

What are the refund procedures?

Refund information and restrictions are listed on each camp registration page.  All camps require a nonrefundable deposit, and the amounts differ.

Do I really need a current physical?

Yes. If your camper has had a physical in the last 12 months from the actual camp dates, you generally will not have to make another appointment to obtain documentation. Without a completed physical, your camper will not be allowed to participate in camp activities.

May I drop my child off early?

No. Please do not plan to drop your child off to wait, unsupervised, for the start of camp. Prior to start time, coaches and staff are busy preparing fields and conferring regarding sessions and cannot adequately supervise campers.

Will there be a camp store?

Yes! Texas State Soccer merchandise will be available for purchase on first and last days of camp. You can find items such as shirts, scarves, balls, socks, and sweats. At this time, only cash and check are accepted. The median cost for t-shirts is $25. Please plan accordingly, as there are no ATM machines at the soccer complex.

Residential FAQ's

Will my child be supervised in the dorm?

Yes. Every camper will be assigned to a counselor. The camp staff (including administrators, coaches, and counselors) will be housed in the dorm. The dorm staff/camper ratio is approximately 1:10.

Will my child need bed linens and toiletries?

Yes. All campers will need a pillow and bed linens for a twin bed. You will also need to send toiletries and towels with your camper.

What about roommate requests?

The camp welcomes roommate requests and will attempt to accommodate the requests, but does not guarantee them. Roommate requests must correspond to each other, so please double check to make sure campers intending to room together list one another.  Again, fulfillment of roommate requests is attempted, but is not guaranteed.

Is there a penalty for a lost room key during camp?

Yes. There is a $150 fee for a lost room key. This fee must be paid at the time of check out.

How much spending money should I send with my residential camper?

Although meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are covered through registration fees, most campers want a snack after the evening session.  Residential campers are welcome to bring snacks and bottled drinks to store in the dorm rooms.  There are no refrigerators in the rooms.  There are some vending machines available, for which small bills and coins generally are needed.  For Residential Campers, we try to make a trip to the University bookstore, which accepts cash and credit card. However, the camp store is cash and check only.  The median t-shirt price is $25, and there is no ATM machine at the complex. Please note: Campers are responsible for their own money and there is no camp bank.

How many campers are assigned to each dorm room?

Will my child be matched with her roommate preference?

We will do everything possible to accommodate roommate preferences. Please make sure that your camper and his/her preferred roommate have written each other down on their respective registration forms. We cannot guarantee roommate requests.
